Introducing SHAZAM R.A.D.A.R.
Do you know where your ATM/check card is? If your card is in the wrong hands, chances are your account is going to encounter several transactions you weren’t expecting. To help protect you and your account, MidWestOne Bank has teamed up with SHAZAM to keep an eye out for any suspicious transactions. SHAZAM R.A.D.A.R., Risk Assessment Detection And Response, looks for transactions that appear out of the ordinary. If a transaction is questionable, a MidWestOne representative or a SHAZAM fraud specialist will call you to verify the transaction. If it is valid, no action will be taken. If it is fraudulent, we will immediately block the card’s access to your account, stopping any further unauthorized transactions. Does this special protection cost you anything? No. It’s free to all of our card holders. Is there anything you have to do? Yes. 1) We ask that you provide MidWestOne with a primary and secondary phone number (home, work, cell, etc.) and 2) Keep us updated when any of these numbers change. We need to be able to contact you as soon as possible when a suspicious transaction occurs. 3) Also, if you plan to travel away from home, let us know when you are taking your trip so you aren’t bothered with unnecessary calls verifying transactions. Remember to protect yourself from fraud at all times: If you are contacted by a MidWestOne Bank representative or a SHAZAM fraud specialist regarding an unauthorized transaction, they WILL NOT ask you any personal information over the phone. Your identity will be verified using public information only, such as an address or zip code…never your account or pin number. As always, if you suspect your card has been stolen or compromised, contact your local branch immediately.
